about
I’m Annalise Le Jeune, and I’m an artist and illustrator living in London. I was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and I moved to Denver, Colorado at the age of eighteen to study English and Journalism at the University of Denver. After dropping out in 2018, I moved to the UK to complete a Foundation course in art at Edinburgh College. From there, I went on to UAL’s Camberwell College of Arts to get a degree in Illustration.
My pieces encompass many subjects and eras, but my primary interest is in remaking folk art and classical work for a modern age. Many of the things I make take inspiration from traditional fiber crafts such as knitting and weaving. My painting and drawing work focuses on themes from antiquity. I am always striving to find the intersection between traditional folk craft and academic, traditional art. I usually make art about witches, magic, fairies and anything that feels a bit like magic.
I started a knitwear shop in 2024, where I sell pieces I’ve made by hand.
